Beyond the "Material" Gifts:  Being Grateful

This year the holidays may look a little different than they did in 2020.

Maybe you will be celebrating with your family again after a year apart.

Maybe you won’t be able to be with family again this year, or you’ve lost a  loved one to COVID or something else.

We all have so much to be grateful for which goes far beyond the material gifts or "stuff" as we sometimes call it in our line of work.

This season, I'm especially grateful for my health, my family, my friends and our employees.

Sadly, my family is short a member this year after the passing of one of my brothers.  It has made family and health even more important to me.

I am reminded that one of the best gifts is being with those that you love this time of year as there are no gifts to replace the loss of a loved one.

Too often I see people stressed about everything they need "to do" this time of year to prepare for the holidays.

Life doesn't need to be this way.

Today, people are busier than ever, trying to accomplish more in less time and when we just can't do it all, we blame ourselves and feel guilty.

If you're feeling overwhelmed with everything that is on your plate - STOP.

Sit down and prioritize what absolutely needs to be done and let the rest go.

Yes, this can be hard to do, but you will feel better in the end and you will enjoy the holidays more.

With all that happened in my life this year, it gave me a fresh perspective about the meaning of holidays. I crossed a lot of things off my list this year that I enjoy doing.  It was not easy for me to do, but it did help my stress level.  I also asked for help, which does not come naturally for me.

If you need help getting things done around your home for the holidays, our team can make magic happen in your home.

Next year, in order to help eliminate some of the stress of the season, start your planning and preparation earlier in the year. This will help you spread out the activities that have a tendency to pile up and cause you to feel overwhelmed.

Soon, the holidays will be behind us, so enjoy them while they're here!

The new year is just around the corner, so it is a wonderful time to set your intentions or resolutions.

Getting organized is one of the top five new year's resolutions set every year. Will it be yours?

I wish you and your family peace and happiness this holiday season and may you find joy with family and friends.

Warm Wishes for a Joyous Holiday Season.

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas,
