Six Simple Products to Help You Stay Organized and Productive
Once a year, the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) has an annual conference for those in the Organizing and Productivity industry. I had the opportunity to attend this year's conference in Los Angeles with Laura. The conference was filled with informative workshops, speakers, networking and my personal favorite, an Organizing Expo. The Expo was an interactive exhibit hall full of the latest organizing and productivity tools, services and products. An Organizing Specialist's dream! Below are six simple yet remarkably helpful products to help keep you organized and be productive.
What's That Paint? This product gets the "Why didn't I think of that?" award of the conference! So simple, yet so useful! Keep all of your paint cans organized by using the cute fill-in-the blank, self-stick paint can labels. Fill-in-the blanks for Room, Color, Finish & Base, Brand/Store, Date, and Other. There is also a place to dab the paint color right on the label. Labels come in gallon and quart size. Purchase online at www.whatsthatpaint.com.
The Time Timer is a slick little device that visually accounts for the passage of time through a disappearing red disk. Use the timer in business meetings, while working on a project or with your kids to stay on task and improve productivity. I was thinking it might be helpful for at home workouts as well! The applications are endless! Purchase online at www.timetimer.com.
Origami is a line of sturdy, collapsible racks and shelving units that only take 20 seconds to put together. They don't require any tools for set-up or assembly and they fold flat for storage or transportation. I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see it myself! Look at the picture of me holding one of the small blue carts! I was surprised how easy it was to fold and pick up. Visit www.origamirack.com to see their entire catalog of products.
If tangled, unorganized cables bug you as much as they do me, you will be interested in the Cable Keeper. Simply insert up to three cables into the Cable Keeper and zip it up. Your cables are now protected and you can bend and wrap them however you like to keep them organized inside your purse, gym bag or on your desk. The product comes in a variety of colors so you can color code and identify cables in a flash. Order online at www.neetproducts.com.
Stick-N-Store Poly Pouch
If you need a way to keep all of your small loose items together inside a folder, look no further! Store USBs, receipts, pens, sticky notes, and other small or loose items inside any file folder with the Stick-N-Store Poly Pouch by SMEAD. Simply peel back the permanent adhesive strip and press the flap into any file folder. Genius! Purchase online at www.smead.com.
Pliio Clothing Management System
Use the Pliio Pilers to help keep your clothes neat and folded on any type of shelving. Simply fold your tops and sweaters around a Piler and it will be perfectly folded and easy to manage. The Piler fits most tops, sweaters, and dresses from youth size 8-10 through adult XL. You can also use the Piler in your suitcase while traveling to keep your clothing neat and organized! A client recently asked "What do I do about all of these sticky-notes with passwords on them?" The answer - get rid of them and start using a password management system. With LastPass, you simply download the program, and create an account with your email address and a strong master password. As you browse to your regular sites, LastPass will prompt you to save your logins and generate new passwords. After saving a website's username and password, LastPass will autofill the login when you return to that site. No more sticky-notes needed! There are three versions to choose from. Free, Premium - with unlimited use of the mobile apps for smartphones and tablets, or Enterprise - for use with your company. If you need any assistance getting it set-up, call our office and let us help you eliminate your password chaos.
"I worked with Erin, one of the specialists who works with the Chronically Disorganized (hoarders). In a word, she was fantastic. In four 4-hour sessions, she helped me go through and box up (keep, donate, trash) almost everything that was stacked up in my kitchen, dining room, office, and bonus room. Erin arrived promptly. We went over what I wanted to accomplish that day, then we got to work. She was focused, calm, non-judgmental, and tireless. She faced very dirty circumstances and didn't bat an eyelash. She never once caused me a moment of anxiety; the relief that I felt when we were done was amazing. And Laura Leist, who is the owner of Eliminate Chaos, was lovely. She returned my calls promptly, was kind and understanding, and offered me some options. I would hire this company again in a heartbeat. But right now I'm too busy enjoying all the free space in my house!"
